Why Starlight Express could come to an end POSTED ON 05/04/2016
The indomitable much loved musical which has been running for over 20 years has had a facelift (scootlift?) courtesy of Kesgrave High School and our Scooter Aid scheme.
The young stars at Kesgrave school recently put on a performance of Starlight but swapped roller skates for scooters.
Stuart Race, head of drama at the school, said: “We definitely try to choose the show suitable for the space here, and we want to do something original.
“I emailed Micro Scooters on the off chance and they wrote back saying they would love to help us.
“They sent 15 scooters we have had since January and it has made the show – they are used in every song.”
The school prides itself on having more than half of the 1,700 pupils cycling to and from school, which prompted the drama teachers to celebrate the feat through its musical.
Mr Race added: “It’s about the innovation,” “It’s about getting everyone involved, it’s about trying out things and about the technical side – we are absolutely buzzing!”
