How we supported the Sandcastle Trust via Scooter Aid POSTED ON 22/02/2018
Through our #ScooterAid scheme we are proud that we are able to support UK charities. Charities who are nominated by you and those who contact us direct.
Most recently we supported The Sandcastle Trust.
In February 2018, we provided The Sandcastle Trust with some road-tested scooters which had already been on exciting scooter adventures.
We like to think that these scooters are a bit more worldly and therefore have experience in the scooting adventures arena.
In reality, they are revamped scooters that have returned to Micro HQ through events and donations and have passed our stringent QC tests.
Once they were ready for their honorary mission we packaged them up ready for their VIP purpose; injecting a little bit of fun and respite to those most in need.
The trust have asked their social media channels for nominations of children who they feel would benefit from one of the 6 scooters donated. We will be sharing their stories as they come through via this page to raise awareness of the great work of this charity.
Don’t forget to return to hear about the forever homes they have scooted off to. Until then, here is a bit more information about The Sandcastle Trust.
The Sandcastle Trust.
We support families affected by rare genetic conditions. Either children or parents may have the condition and in some cases more than one person in the family is affected. The person with the diagnosis may as a result have sensory, physical or learning disabilities.
Our belief is that a little bit of fun can go a long way to relieving the substantial pressures that affected families face in their lives and we provide grants for short breaks and special day trips among other things that provide some much needed fun and respite.
Our Vision is a future where a diagnosis of a rare genetic condition will not be a barrier to experiencing everything that life has to offer – most importantly enjoying time together as a family.
