The science of scooting

Micro Scooters commissioned research with Brytespark - a team of experts in biomechanics, and child development, who combined their knowledge with how the body of a child develops using a Micro scooter.

The research found that it’s not just any scooting movement and exercise that matter. For children to confidently develop fundamental skills, energetic play should be structured with adult involvement. It’s the type of movement that makes all the difference at this critical stage of development.

They have developed various Micro scooter games to help develop children’s important milestones.

Why is exercise important?

180 minutes of exercise a day can seem a lot with a toddler We know that many parents will be intimidated by a target of 180 minutes physical exercise per day with a child under 5. However, don’t loose sight of the fact that infants of this age are continuously on the go.

Our Play for Life campaign delivers the science behind the ‘fundamental movement skills’ theories, in a palatable way and provides useful advice and games ideas for guided-play that is appropriate for the child’s stage of development. This means that because we have done the thinking, it leaves you to focus on the fun and interaction rather than being overwhelmed buy the stats.
