A scoot to 10 Downing Street

A scoot to 10 Downing Street
We were as proud as punch when, back in 2016, our co-founder, Anna Gibson, was invited to speak with Downing Street advisers on how best the government can encourage entrepreneurs to start their own businesses in the UK.

Anna co-founded Micro Scooters 20 years ago when she spotted a child riding the Mini Micro on Clapham Common. As soon as her son Edward tried and fell in love with the scooter, she teamed up with co-founder Philippa Gogarty to make the scooter more widely available.

After each giving up high-flying careers, the pair started the business from their kitchen tables (at one point with three children each running around while doing so). Neither of them imagined just how far they, the business, and the use of scooters amongst children and adults would come in two decades.

Speaking about her day, Anna said, “I spent an amazing morning at No.10 with Daniel Korsky (the then Deputy Head of the Prime Minister’s policy unit and Special Advisor to David Cameron), Emma Jones (from Enterprise Nation), and other government policy advisers discussing the issues and challenges that face small and medium-sized businesses today.”

Of course, when you are the head of a scooter company, there is only one way to arrive at your meetings.

You may not have a meeting at No.10 Downing Street to attend (or, maybe you do?!), but whatever you are doing, why not make a memorable entrance and scoot your commute in style? An exciting range of adult scooters, all perfect for the commute, can be found on our website.
