To ensure your intrepid freestyler is as safe as they can be at the skate park, then you need to invest in a scooter that is right for now. Choosing one to grow into is tempting but will prove troublesome (and a little unsafe) for them to master their flips and tricks.
The height of the rider is the main benchmark and this should be considered over 'age' to ensure you pick the set of wheels to compliment the rider's ability.
The top of the handlebars should sit between the bottom of their pockets and tummy button (regardless of whether they are standing on the deck or next to the scooter).
If the handlebar is too high or too low, it becomes a lot harder to manoeuver a scooter when performing tricks safely.
The second consideration is the width of the handlebar which has been cleverly constructed to provide stability and balance. This should roughly be the same width as the rider's shoulders.

Therefore, these scooters cannot be folded and handlebars are not adjustable. Instead, the stem is specially reinforced with high-quality parts to withstand tough impacts when its rider lands their tricks. All Chilli Pro scooters have threadless forks making them incredibly sturdy and unlikely to break.

All Micro and Chilli scooters have a HIC (Hidden Internal Compression) system. Its purpose is to connect the fork (bottom of the handlebars) to the headtube (the circular hole at the front end of the deck) and guarantees that the handlebars turn smoothly. Unlike others, the specialist HIC system found on Chilli scooters is robust, durable and won’t need constant adjusting. It is also designed with other brands in mind, making the scooter fully customisable.
