Safety, tested properly
Micro products are designed for real family life, then assessed against the relevant safety and compliance requirements for their category, age range and intended use.
This page explains the standards that apply, what they check and what that means in everyday use. Because certificates can be hard to decode, we have translated the important bits into plain English.
Not every standard applies to every product. We’ve made it easy for you to check the relevant product section below for the requirements and evidence that apply to that item.
Safety Standards Explained
EN 71 – Toy Safety
EN 71 – Toy Safety
EN 71 is a recognised toy safety standard for children’s products sold in the UK and EU. Depending on the part of the standard, it can cover physical and mechanical safety, flammability and chemical migration from accessible materials.
Why it matters: It helps assess key risks linked to children’s play, including strength, stability, sharp edges, small parts and certain substances in materials.
Applies to: Relevant Micro scooters, ride-ons, toys and accessories.
EN 1078 – Helmet Safety
EN 1078 – Helmet Safety
EN 1078 is the European safety standard for cycle helmets.
It covers:
- impact absorption
- strap strength
- retention system performance
- secure fit during use
Why it matters: It helps show that a helmet has been tested for protection during cycling, scooting and similar activities.
REACH Compliance
REACH Compliance
REACH is a European chemical safety regulation.
It covers:
- restricted substances
- material safety
- chemical compliance
Why it matters: It helps show that materials have been checked against strict chemical safety requirements.
RoHS
RoHS
RoHS restricts certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic components, such as lead, mercury and cadmium.
Why it matters: It helps limit the use of certain substances in lights, battery-powered products and other electronic parts.
CE / UKCA
CE / UKCA
CE and UKCA markings show that the responsible business has assessed a product against the relevant legal requirements for the market where it is sold.
They are not quality awards. They are compliance markings that confirm the product is supported by the required conformity assessment and documentation.
Safety and compliance at a glance
Different products have different safety and compliance requirements depending on their category, intended use, age grading and features.
This table gives a high-level guide to the types of checks that may apply across the Micro range. For exact product-specific standards, declarations and supporting information, see the relevant product category table below.
Product-specific evidence
The table above is a guide to the types of requirements that may apply across each product category. Individual models, colours, features and age grades may have different relevant standards. See the category sections below for product-level information, including applicable Declarations of Conformity and plain-English testing summaries where available.
Product Specific Information
Where appropriate, you can view a product’s Declaration of Conformity or supporting safety summary below. A Declaration of Conformity is the manufacturer’s formal statement that a product meets the relevant requirements for its intended market.
Some original laboratory reports contain confidential supplier, factory or commercial information. We therefore publish clear summaries, declarations or redacted documents where appropriate.
