Micro was founded as a cleaner, greener, healthier way to get around. Our purpose is rooted in enabling positive change. Challenging the status quo and setting high standards is core to our DNA.

So setting ourselves the target of becoming a certified B Corp was a natural goal.It doesn’t change the fundamental reason we exist. But it will challenge us to go further and focus us on the areas that really count. And it will bring us together with other like minded businesses to strive for broader change.

Only A Teams make it as a B Corp

Any organisation that gains certification has been found to meet the highest standards and proven to deliver a positive impact both for our planet and the people on it.

And those standards must be consistently maintained to remain part of B Corp.

Stronger Together

Being a B Corp company means being part of a group of businesses that are all committed to the same goal.

Together we’re stronger. Able to use our collective voice to champion the issues that are critical to our planet’s future. Able to share our ideas and our skills to make change happen.

Together we influence governments and corporate leaders to support responsible business and help us journey towards an economy that works for all.

Together we inspire and enable consumers to change their everyday habits for the better.

JUST THE B-GINNING

The process for becoming a B Corp company is challenging. Gaining certification is very much the start, not the end of the process. Our certification score gives us clear direction on the areas we need to improve, and our annual impact report helps us to monitor our progress. Needing to re-certify every three years pushes us to constantly raise the bar.

We used the B Impact Assessment (BIA), a third-party standard created by B Lab (the non-profit behind the B Corp movement), to measure our impact.

The BIA scores companies on a 0-200 point scale. The average score is 40-60 points. Companies interested in becoming Certified B Corporations are required to score 80 points or higher.

This year we re-certified with a BIA score of 100.5

Increased from 95.2 in 2022. Our goal is to improve our score by at least 5% each time we re-certify.
