Micro was created by Wim Ouboter – a man who likes to ask questions. Why can’t getting around our cities be both practical and fun? Why can’t urban mobility be good for people and good for our planet? Why can’t easy be affordable?
Wim’s journey to answer these questions has been a journey of ideas, experimentation and refusing to take no for an answer. So far he has helped to transform the way toddlers enjoy their first taste of independence, the way millions of children get to school and the way commuters get to work. From Battlefield to Starting Line
Micro was introduced to UK shores thanks to mums and friends Anna and Philippa. Having tracked some Mini Micros down after spotting one at their local park, the benefits for their family soon became clear. The morning battlefield of getting kids ready for school and out the door became a starting line of children present, correct and raring to set off on their three-wheeled adventure.
Setting Kids up for the Day
It didn’t take long to work out that the benefits of scooting to school went beyond purely practical. A 20 minute scoot gave the children crucial time to expend energy and enjoy some fresh air – arriving at school ready to focus on the day ahead.

Since Anna and Philippa first discovered the impact of scooting to school for their families, they’ve learned more and more about the role of scooting in helping all ages build healthy habits into their days. Easier, healthier, greener, so much fun – and for much more than just school runs.
